Week 9 - Visualisation of ideas

gda935992

After the visualisation of ideas, I had drawn, collages, storyboarded, made samples and mood boards of what I wanted to present. I presented my sketches to one of the tutors. I spoke to Caroline because I had the idea of taking inspiration from something I'd first seen in a Sri Lankan gallery, of an artist who had hand-stitched some of the illustrations onto organza material.

The artist presented her work at the Saskia Fernando gallery in Sri Lanka and I was inspired to create a similarly illustrative piece, but with different designs and different coloured threads, rather than just red thread on organza material. I then also did some sketches for Westminster and how they compare to each other - the Sri Lanka series and the Westminster series.

I did some sketches of the innovations that had occurred in the Victorian era which promoted science and technology of the time. I also did Westminster here and now, teeming with students in different areas of the university. Further, I did sketches of the university and what students would look like in the future.
