Team Meeting

Four of the team met today , Tomiris, Kayleigh-Ann, Callie and myself. Brenda was ill and Peter had excused himself from the session.

Plan for today

Our plan was to finalise the slides for presentation

Finishing off the market research - who is GenZ? What activities do GenZ like doing? Is reading one of them? What type of fiction do they reading etc?

Finalising our designs for product designs for presentation.

Group Work analysis

Although, I had delegated Callie to finish off the market research slide. She said that she still had to finalise her product design. In addition to that she was not clear on what market research points would be relevant. I decided to take upon the responsibility of researching for the specific points for GenZ readership market research. I felt I have found some good points on facts readership fo GenZ and Penguin Random House publishing house's competitors for company and literature based products. I found the following facts to assist s Kayleigh with the research on the market research presentation slide.

For the rest of the day I turned my attentions to finalising product table lamp/projector design.

I have created illustrations designs analogically and digitally.

Below are some initial watercolour illustrations to invite the audience to get a flavour of what the story is about.

As the first chapter, introduces the story of a part of Imperial China where Tigers have known to exist. Tigers represent conflict with the tai sui so this year will bring emotional turmoil, challenges and financial loss. I have drawn multiple images of tigers to suggest foreboding. I have used watercolour and digital medium to create images this imagery.

I have completed an analogue picture of a tiger coming down the mountain. I have chosen watercolour as the medium for the particular image. I am please with how the image turned out but the tiger's head lacked a little attention to detail. Even though I used the thinnest brush I had it was still created a thicker line than what I originally wanted. I think if I had used an ink gel pen I would have achieved a thinner line around the eyes and that would have been better. But I chose not to correct and use it in my final digital collage.

I used ClipStudio paint to create the initial image. I used the pen and pencil tool to create the tiger. I also use a pencil tool create the fur. I felt that these two elements of the digital drawing came out well. The application pencil and softened pen tools created an effective image. The bigger projection - red the tiger outline is a reference to my favourite cartoon as a child growing up. However, I should have spent more time creating the tiger's head. I think I have rushed it because I was conscious of moving wanting to create a series. My impatience got the better of me.

I have used to illustrate a handful of rice. This represents crop failure and the onset of famine.

I used the medium of ink, watercolour and ink gel pen to create this image on watercolour paper. I continued the restricted colour palette using black and white and red only.
