In the afternoon, in our our group we were tasked to look at three different project briefs from the D&DA industry briefs and try and pick one brief and answer the brief according to the guidelines. The three project briefs came from three different companies: Ebay, Heineken Beer and Penguin Random House publications.
Summarising each brief would help understand what the brief was asking and this would go a long way in making a decision in which project brief to pursue.
EBAY
Background: Ebay is an online marketplace. Ebay discovered a huge increase in the trading of pre-loved items. Ebay wants to capitalise on Gen Z turning to pre-loved items more as a way of alleviating concerns over cost of living and being kinder to the environment (turning away form fast fashion).
Aim: Ebay wants to attract Gen Z to use their platform. The challenge set is to develop a new service, social media campaign or an online tool that engage the Gen Z generation and encourage to use their platforms instead of other pre-loved trading companies. Moreover, the
Ebay efforts so far: Establishing partnerships with popular TV programmes such as Love Island Ebay wants to build on efforts to engage Gen Z with its platform.
Guidance on Product development: Pre-loved fashion is a good starting point. It is challenging as the market is overloaded with pre-loved apps. Ideas generation should be unique to Ebay making it stand out n a overcrowded market. The product design will be used to encourage Gen Z to use Ebay as a first-choice platform for buying and selling pre-loved items.
